Welcome to the 2013 “FORCE FAMILY”
I would personally like to welcome everyone to a new and exciting season of high school football for 2013. For those of you who have made the decision to place your son or daughter into a home school, private school or Christian school atmosphere, we hope that you will see the benefits of your efforts. We want to be a part of helping to mold, teach and reach out to these student athletes and help them become a leader in their community and eventually a world changer in their adult life. We thank you for being a part of the program and are thankful that you have allowed us to be a mentor to your son or daughter.
As parents, we appreciate your support and effort to make the Georgia Force high school football program a success on and off the field of play. We firmly believe that instilling character and integrity into our young men and women creates a championship team off the field as well as on the field. First and foremost, we honor God in all that we say and do.
To our student athletes, we expect you to be positive examples on and off the field. You should work hard in everything that you do. That is at home, school and on the football field. We believe in each of you and look forward to having you as a part of the “Force Family.”
Back in 2004, our community was enriched with the formation of The Georgia Force High School Football program. The team is comprised of young men who are being educated at home or at a Christian school lacking a football program. Joining us in our team effort are the young ladies of our cheerleading squad as well as the Force Band. The Georgia Force is a part of the Glory for Christ League (GFC), which is one of three independent state programs. We are grateful and thankful for our partnership with the Georgia Force Arena Football League program.
The Georgia Force has already been the subject of numerous articles published in local and regional newspapers, including the Atlanta Journal and Constitution, Gwinnett Daily Post, Gainesville Time, Inside Gwinnett and Home School Sports Insider. We enjoyed coverage of our games alongside the high schools you are accustomed to seeing. Early in the 2004 season Georgia Force High School Football was featured on FOX5 News Sports and our scores were regularly reported on FOX5 “In Your Face Football”. The Georgia Force boasted an overall record of 8-3 and enjoyed a trip to the Georgia Football League Championships out first season. In 2005 and 2006, we finished our season undefeated at 10-0 & 9-0 respectively and the GFL Championship back to back! We have continued to work hard to reach higher standards and without sponsors, we can only go so far. Also, in 2005 we have had our leagues standings published in the Atlanta Journal and our league game scores shown on FOX5 Friday Night High School football scoreboard, as well as other local stations. In 2006, we continued our success on and off the field. We again won the regular season championship as well as the GFL Championship completing the season with a 9-0 record. We also competed in the National Association of Christian Athletic football championships and finished 2nd in the nation in Division 2. Over the 2005-2007 seasons we compiled a 36-4 record winning 2 GFL championships. In 2010 we finished with a 9-2 overall record and were runner-up in the GFC league and championship. The 2011 season saw us earn a 10-2 record and miss going to the championship game by 1 point in overtime.
As we enter the 2013 season, we pray for the Lord to bless our efforts and allow us to be a light in the community as well as an example of Christian values to those with whom we interact. I thank you all for being a part and contributing to the program to help us be the best we can be for the lives of these young men and women.
Many Blessings,
R. Scott Willis
